So here is the new glider & my mini project for the week.
Love the glider! The common Storkcraft one but grey&white. Ordered from Wayfair. Firm bottom cushion but a fluffy back, side pockets & a little lumbar pillow that I use to rest the babe on while nursing. Like all things, I wish it was longer for my legs, but then there is the footrest. It's a great purchase & cheaper than all those babiesrus ones. See the picture wall that I hung? Well, Mr Smith helped a little. Sorry for all the glare. You should come see it in person. And again I don't like the blue walls but it's the current situation.
that coral color always show up pink in pictures. next time take it down a notch! |
oh is it nap time? I think I need one more blanket first. |
As you now know, cooking every day for someone who is pretty plain but can consume a lot & me who likes variety, stresses me out. So this little board has helped pretend like I have some order to it all & helps calm me down a bit. The greens are regular weekly meals like "meat & potatoes"- "eggs & rice" - "enchiladas" (Mr Smith's choices of course) and then we throw in the blue ones like sweet potato curry & quesadillas that I switch up. I include variations to those on the back. Grocery shopping still seems to overwhelm me - the "planning" aspect (I love going up & down the aisles but it's not time or cost effective), but at least I plan for what meats are on sale that week & make sure I have the main things. I buy whatever veggies are on sale & somehow wiggle them under Mr Smith's nose.
I thought the fabric background was too busy when I put it up, but I'm getting used to it. I need to use the fabric I buy for something and not just that it looks cute by the yard.
I also got that print this weekend (printed it offline) and the frame cuts off some of the quote, but I know what it says. "If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams & you will always look lovely." I just freakin love that. Let me know if you want a link. The max size is a 5X7. And those shoes are adorable! But glitter so I have a love/hate relationship with them.
goodness gracious it looks so bright... but it only hurts your eyes in this picture I promise. |
I'll throw in a little shout out to Aunt Tami & my mom for allowing me to splurge on a glider since we didn't have to worry about a crib or a changing table. Way nice to have good hand-me-downs!
{originally I spelled it "hammy downs" because that's how I talk. Mr Smith encourages me not to be so... redneck}
One last project, I have an 11x14 that I still want to mod podge to wood (can I say it like that?) above her crib. No idea when I'll get around to that, but I have the photo. So, that's a plus?
