I love mothers. Those who stayed at home with their children. Those who worked to give their kids a better life. I respect those who breastfed for any amount of time. Those who never gave up on doing their best for their children. Those who stayed up late in the night. Those who changed every kind of diaper. Those who read to their kids and rocked them back to sleep. Those who sang with their children and played with their children. Those who cried for their children & laughed with their children. Those who prayed for their children. I love mothers who sacrificed for their children. I love mothers who loved their children.
Mothers are strong. Some of the strongest people I know.
Being a first-time mother, I now understand this a little bit better.
I have a wonderful mother. I have a wonderful grandmother.
They love us with everything they have.
Mr Smith bought me a Kindle a week ago as a surprise gift. He wanted me to have something to distract myself when nursing, among other things. It was very sweet; even when I don't like surprises. Of course I immediately asked if he got it on sale & told him it's hard for me to handle surprise splurges.
He also went with me on a 3 hour trip south to Looper Rd. Nana just started chemo for her breast cancer & we wanted her to have a nice distraction on Mother's Day. Alexis really wanted to meet her great grandmother. She also got to see Uncle Rand & Aunt Savannah for the first time. Alexis slept for 2 hours, but woke up extremely hungry for the other hour, which extended the trip by 40 minutes each way. Love road trips.
And we used this time to capture pictures with Alexis:
Beautiful pictures :)
ReplyDeleteKayla, I'm so sad to hear your Nana has breast cancer! I'll be sure to keep her in my thoughts.
