I've been really weirded out by people who have way too much time on their hands that they actually make their own graham crackers or cheese-its. I mean I am the only person who has that kind of time and I have zero desire, especially when they cost more to make than buy. It's great for people to know how things are made, so that if it all goes to pots one day we can still have those little luxuries in life. I won't be the one nibbling on home grown graham crackers though unless I have some wheat germ just lying around (never).
And if those people are mothers, your children are neglected. You should probably go play with them or teach them something. If you can do all that at the same time, I will give you a crown and worship you till the day I die. So I really hope you don't have children. I give parents props for having all the children alive at the end of the day.
Any way, if I let it, pinterest can make me feel inferior. But then I realize these people don't exist - these perfect people with perfect homes, children and graham cracker snacks in the oven.
(outside of complete sarcasm, these mothers might not be perfect, but they are mothers and they make their own snacks, nutritionally, I don't know if it's worth it. I'm just saying practically, not a chance it'll be on my todo list)
But look what is . . .
Chicken Pad Thai! |
I made a menu from pinterest recipes this week. These easy pad thai recipe hardly cost me anything! I mean if you have other uses with the green onions and cilantro...
We thought it tasted great. However . . .
If you have a husband like mine, he'll disapprove of the cilantro any way. Haha - what a nerd I have. Took out every last spec! You learn something every day about your spouse (although I could have guessed).
I didn't have rice noodles, just linguine, I was running low on green onion, added more brown sugar, didn't measure anything exactly, and used honey roasted sunflower seeds instead of peanuts. Hardly Thai after all of that, but it still worked our great!

Someone said once, "We read all these different blogs, see a combination of things posted on who knows what, and in our minds we start to think that it's one mass super woman." I always remind myself of this when I start judging myself. :)
