Sooo that's cool that there was so much hype over the Hunger Games. I guess I didn't go in thinking the best (because I read the book) but I mean, I did go in thinking there was so much potential.
Did anyone else get a headache during the first 10 minutes of the film off tripod? I think my eyes don't appreciate the creative style. Any way, I still love the books but if we can help it, we probably shouldn't pay so much to see a movie in theaters unless it's a movie not based on a book and has serious action best handled on the size of a football field screen. I still appreciated our little date night and actually felt like we could get some popcorn courtesy of the Westers who provided the much appreciated gift card.
Perhaps it was all because I wasn't attached to the main lead, but maybe that's kinda how her character is. I don't know. Eric was surprised by how much they showed in the death of the teens. I guess I am desensitized to the horror my imagination already created when reading. Either way, I'll see all the movies eventually, it's just a matter of 1. hype is crap 2. red box is better and that has several reasons: 1. I can dress however I want to 2. I don't have to sneak food in 3. It's cheaper 4. PLENTY of leg room 5. I don't have to whisper 6. I (Mr Smith) don't have to drive home after 7. I can cuddle with Mr Smith all I want etc...
2 engagement shoots to edit this month so I guess my second job will keep me busy. It's a wonderful conference weekend thank you to the brilliant age of technology and we will just have to get back to you later. Lots of things happening in less than 2 months. Horray!
PS - doesn't she look 10xs prettier in this picture?
Yes, I'm superficial.
And still annoyed that it's yet another teenage (but all adults watch it) film that has the girl having two amazing/perfect men madly in love with her. what-the-freak. The teenage experience of .01% of the population. I mean, I totally relate, but still.
