I've really wanted an all-in-one Mac for forever. Well, I always wanted a Mac and then I realized they have these all-in-ones now, so I now want that. Any way, it's hard though to justify the major MAJOR expense. Yeah, I have a significant amount of photos and I do a significant amount of edits, most of which I actually get paid for, yet it's still hard. Especially if Eric and I have different needs.
We went to the store today and our experience didn't help the Mac cause. You know how they always have 50 employees on staff when you go in there? I always get overwhelmed with that stuff. Mac has a good thing with their image. Of course I know/have been programmed to think it's the most reliable and highest quality, but we asked the same question to three different people and we still didn't walk away with the correct answer. I don't even know what I want anymore. I don't think affording things will get easier. Maybe give us 20 years, but do I want to wait that long?
So, the debate is
1. Eric needs a bigger monitor that he can plug his laptop in to write documents, work on spreadsheets, watch movies while we don't have a TV, etc . . .
2. I need something that moves faster and handles Photoshop like it should. I want something to last, something I can't kill with viruses and malware. I Google, mess around in excel, and edit photos.
So what do we do? Here's the compromise - get the smaller 21.5 inch iMac that costs $1300 (let's add like $400 to it by the time we're through) and then Eric buys his monitor for say $200-300. OR we get the 27 inch (adding $400) and somehow someone tells us how we can connect the PC laptop to the iMac. OR we buy a tower from DELL for around $1000? and get a $200-300 monitor.
I don't know. What's needed? Who can provide us with all the answers? I'm ready to be sold. We're ready to be sold. PLEASE SELL US a computer.

Well, at least you both don't have different opinions! But I can attest to the, probably won't have money for that kind of a purchase till twenty years down the road... Money just evaporates now! Good luck!
