There is a big difference between 14 months and 1 year so I tell you she is 14 months.

I found a molar in Lexi's mouth a few days ago. So, obviously we are on it as parents. The only way to get a glimpse is to hold her upside down and tickle her. So she wasn't making up all those teething symptoms a few weeks back.  It seems a bottom molar & front tooth broke through as well.  But again, hard to tell in 5 seconds. Yay for 14 months! that makes 8 teeth and counting. Here are some things I didn't think about when it came to Alexis becoming more mobile, but I still can't do much about except remember to shut the door (assuming you don't have old doors like ours that don't fully shut) 1. The toilet bowl brush along with the freaking toilet paper. The day she walked out of the bathroom waving the toilet brush…. ughhhhh 2. Checking the trash cans to make sure non trash is not thrown away 3. Spending hours looking for the TV remote. 4. Just because it's on the table, doesn't mean it's out of reach, i.e...

Abnegation Gray

It was hot. And it's really hard to be a photographer and assistant to a one year old at the same time.  I wanted to celebrate her abnegation (Divergent reference) outfit from Target's clearance rack for boys. love it. We are almost to 14 months. She loves fruit & cheese. exploring. dad's tickles and mom's cuddles. She moved up to the forward facing car seat (although I wanted rear, it's not secure in my old car) Sometimes she repeats other animal sounds, but woof is still the default She can play pretty well by herself. And she'll repeat some of our actions.  Like putting her hands above her head for "goal", her finger to her mouth for shh! & of course clapping for "yay" She loves taking things apart and tries to fit things back in. This is the phase of frustration because she knows what she wants to do But is still working on perfecting how to do them. I try to be like "just think about what your ot...

Today's Lesson

(Let's pretend I posted this yesterday) I teach the 16-18 year old girls on Sundays, twice a month. That is my calling within the church at the moment. It has given me much perspective. And I enjoy studying the lessons and trying to see how a 16-18 year old girl might actually hear all the words I have to throw at them. They hear so much noise during the week, and I'm afraid the bad noise is louder. But, nothing can pierce the heart greater than the Holy Ghost so I feel much more responsibility when it comes to making sure I'm able to have the spirit with me in my life so that I can be guided to know what the Lord would have them hear. This month has been on the Priesthood and the Priesthood Keys. Of course that seems ironic to me, but regardless of what's being said in current controversy or the fact that this is the 4th religious post in a row all closely related to the same topic, we can still teach truth and apply it to our lives. I wanted to share a few ...

The Prophet & The Priesthood

I for one am done reading anything regarding ordain women. I'm so over it & don't want to give them one more page view. I feel most want to be over it. However, I don't think we are over it. Because it's only another stepping stone. Enemies of the church have existed and still exist and will ever more exist so long as Satan has influence. Whatever your stance may be regarding Priesthood ordination, I think this media frenzy surrounding Kate and whoever else are fueling their fire. The media loves contention. And Satan loves it. I don't appreciate it. I don't support bullies. I don't support people bashing on either side, but especially when it comes to place shame where it doesn't belong. Especially when those people do it under a mask of self righteousness. The church itself will not be affected by such. But there is still a plea that goes out for the saints to take control of their actions. ……………………………………………………. Alexis, and hopefully other c...
